Sweeney/Christie Pension and Health Benefit Reduction Bill

The following letter was sent to us from MCCEA Legislative Chairperson Tim McGrail, urging all TEAM members to take action against the bill proposed by State Senate President Steve Sweeney, and endorsed by Governor Christie. The bill, S-2937, is a pension and health benefit reduction bill.

You and your education employee colleagues need to do all that you can do to protest the proposal that Governor Chris Christie and Senate President Steve Sweeney are presenting to the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee. Thousands of dollars are about to be stolen from your wallet annually if you do not act. The amount that you lose from your wallet grows each year that you are employed. If you are retired, you may lose your Cost of Living Adjustment for many years into the future.
You need to call, write, and email all legislators to oppose this bill. You cannot sit back and think that your Association leaders can do this action without your help.
You need to be there!
You need to pick up your phone and start calling legislators.
You need to send emails opposing this proposal.

Between now and June 30, we are faced with this challenge that we must confront head on.
